We’re so very glad you’re here! And, we’d love to share why we’re here, too.
Though we’re chefs, we still find getting a balanced dinner on the table tough. And, we’re not alone! In her essential book - Why We Cook - Lindsay Gardener reports that a whopping 90% of women she surveyed do the majority of the cooking in their households. Lindsay writes “women’s experiences cooking at home are an important, yet often overlooked, part of…everyday life” - and we couldn't agree more.
Our community was clear - they’re not interested in spending all Sunday gathering recipes, trekking to the store, then prepping meals for the entire week.
Instead, most want to cook three or four times per week, for about thirty minutes each time. We also found most rely on a formula: family favorites a few nights, pizza and/or takeout another night, perhaps some leftovers the next. But, many need help with new, easy ideas a couple nights per week, and would love to take meal planning off their literal and figurative plate.
So, we set about creating a strategy to help families fill in their dinner gaps and free up a few minutes each week. We added some shortcuts and levity along the way - our recipes aren’t fancy or intricate, but they’re reliable, quick, and delicious. And, they’re designed to appeal to (and be prepared by!) everyone in the family. We’re a small company, but our goal is large: to share the sometimes staggering load of feeding our families and ourselves.
