When I dip, you dip
We have never met a dip we didn’t like.
Seven layer. Spinach artichoke. Sour cream and onion. You name it - we’re all about these textural, flexible flavor bombs that can be both a meal unto themselves (chips with salsa and guac is the OG girl dinner) or can be added onto a main to complete a dish. We have a variety of store bought versions in our fridge at all times since you never know when you’ll want to have a delightful snack, liven up a sandwich, or dress a pasta.
Some of our faves are below, but as always we urge you to also seek out smaller local brands (we see you Cava and Little Sesame).
Haven’s Kitchen Red Pepper Romesco
We love this sauce and we love this brand. Like us, Haven’s Kitchen is dedicated to making cooking easier and more fun, and their delicious sauces add instant oomph to your meal. Our favorite is their version of romesco - a nutty, herby, tomato and roasted red pep sauce with just a wee kick. Pairs great middle eastern flavors, say on top of chicken and rice.
Red Hill Farm Creamy Dill Dressing
As it’s name implies, The Farm at Red Hill (a Virginia based farm and brand) makes the creamiest, herbiest dip ever. We slather this on sandwiches (try it with some sour dough, and a good, ripe, sliced tomato during summer), heap it on top of our scrambled eggs, and serve alongside a simple, pan seared salmon.
This is the only salsa that matters to us. OK, OK that’s not true - we also love their Humo salsa, but La Fundidora (a women owned brand!) makes the absolute best salsa. They pride themselves on small batch products, and quality, real ingredients and the result is glorious, flavor packed salsa. And, great news: La Fundidora just launched cooking sauces for all your marinating and braising needs.
